Police Canteen Items Will Be Stopped If This Card Is Not Made – New Rule
Yes, from now on police personnel will not be able to purchase items from police canteens if they do not obtain this card.
The Central Police Kalyan Bhandar (KPKB) was established in 2006 by the Ministry of Home Affairs as a welfare initiative to support personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), Central Police Organizations (CPOs), and State Police Forces across India.
KPKB is dedicated to providing high-quality consumer goods at subsidized prices, ensuring financial benefits for more than 3.5 million beneficiaries, including serving and retired personnel and their families. The scheme operates through over 1,800 affiliate Bhandars (retail outlets) and 119 master Bhandars (warehouses) across the country.
Who Is Eligible for This Scheme?
Central Police Kalyan Bhandar proudly serves more than 35 lakh beneficiaries across India, including:
- Serving personnel of CAPFs, CPOs, and State Police Forces
- Retired police personnel
- Family members of the above personnel
These individuals have dedicated their lives to national security and public safety and are eligible to receive benefits under this scheme.
This is a Central Government welfare scheme aimed at the well-being of police officers, staff, and their families by providing daily essential goods at discounted prices.
Police personnel can purchase daily necessities from police canteens located at district police headquarters at reduced prices, similar to Army, Navy, and Air Force canteens. However, when officers travel to other districts or states for duty, they often face difficulties purchasing items due to the lack of a centralized system.
To address this issue, the Ministry of Home Affairs has developed an online portal. Through this system, police personnel can purchase daily essentials and electronic items such as:
- Refrigerators
- Washing machines
- Televisions
- Coolers
- Air conditioners
- Other household items
They can buy these items from any police canteen, BSF canteen, or CRPF canteen across India.
To access this scheme, all police canteen beneficiaries must create a new canteen card by completing the consumer registration process on the website:
After registration and login, the new canteen card can be downloaded.
